Welcome to Germany!

Please note the current information on visa and entry restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zambians or non-EU nationals need a visa in order to enter Germany.
The type of visa you require depends on how long you plan to stay. Are you planning a short visit to Germany, e.g. for a holiday? Or would you like to stay longer, e.g. to attend university? Please find additional information on studying in Germany under http://www.study-in-germany.de

Until further notice, applicants from Malawi can apply for both Schengen and National Visas at the Embassy Lusaka.

Please choose how long you are planning to stay. 

Short stay (maximum of 90 days, e.g. for a holiday or business trip)

Long stay (more than 90 days, e.g. to attend university, work or join a family member in Germany)

When applying for visa, you can provide evidence that you are able to meet your living costs by opening a blocked bank account. You have free choice of providers.
